These drawings were drawn by Daniel Blumberg around the same time as Oupa, his solo project’s LP Forget was being recorded. Daniel Blumberg is also part of the band Yuck and is also responsible for the bands artwork and record covers.

Kim Ramberghaug: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
Within the black covers of “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter,” one hundred and ten images unfold, pictures taken over the last couple of years by Norwegian photographer, Kim Ramberghaug.
Animated landscapes, desolate interiors and unaffected portraits are interwoven into a mysterious multitude of narratives. The cinematic quality of the photographs spurs the imagination. You find yourself posing questions about the surrounding circumstances, the before and after.
To whom is the girl in the glittery top talking to over the phone? What is the man crouching behind the hood of the car photographing? Where is that magically illuminated tree located?
Be it integrated by colour schemes, subject matter or associative common denominators, the spreads in the book are lucidly organized. Ramberghaug’s keen eye and visual fingerspitzengefühl is evident and ever present throughout “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.”

Manifesta Journal #12
Manifesta Journal is an international journal focusing on the practices and theories of contemporary curatorship. Manifesta Journal explores and analyzes current developments in curatorial work, in correspondence with the evolution of the Manifesta Biennial over the course of the past decade. The main aim of the journal is to give a stronger voice to an up-and-coming group of (non-) institutional curators, intellectuals, theorists and critics, and to function as a platform for the articulation and discussion of their positions within a pan-European and transcontinental context.
Justified by what is now the “stable” status of the curator, by the diversity within the broader community of professional curators and by the network of curatorial schools, programs and courses in Europe and beyond, Manifesta Journal intends to continue stimulating the establishment of curatorial self-reflection and investigation.

Mousse and American artist Matthew Brannon have conceived and published this monograph entitled Hyena’s Are… Traversing Brannon’s entire oeuvre, this compact volume is structured around an intricate and illuminating essay by Jan Tumlir. Accompanied by a vast repertoire of image reproductions of artworks, including other reference images, Tumlir’s chapters provide a deeper understanding of the complexity of Brannon’s work and practice to date.

Each issue will be inspired by the works of a specially selected artist, designer or musician which will dictate the number of issues in this series. Eschewing the clichéd rules of men’s magazines, it follows a spirit, not a format. Dapper Dan is for the man who doesn’t feel he should have to be like everybody else.
