Erik Steinbrecher Trilogy from left; Ital Thai Chinese and Paint, Möhren In Athen, Halli Galli

Erik Steinbrecher Zine Set contains:

Ital Thai Chinese and Paint, Erik Steinbrecher & Zuni Halpern

Ital Thai Chinese and Paint is a compilation of the first collaborative work by Zuni Halpern and Erik Steinbrecher. The booklet shows montages of photographs and paintings. All the photographed advertisings are collected in the streets. The paintings on paper are studio works. Both materials, views of fusion food and plates of abstract designs are melted. These “painted meals” can be considered as ornaments in the urban context of fast gastronomy and catering.

Möhren In Athen, Erik Steinbrecher

For his show Wind in Athens/Möhren in Athen Erik Steinbrecher left Berlin for Athens, his suitcase packed with carrots. The artist’s art odyssee began. His chosen site for an intervention was the National Archaeological Museum. During his visit in the collection Steinbrecher installed single carrots in the exposition spaces; close to sculptures and artfacts, on bases and behind walls. For this publication Steinbrecher overworked these documents making up the images with cancarrots.

Halli Galli, Erik Steinbrecher

After work artist Erik Steinbrecher every now and then takes a stroll around town. For this project he explored Zurich´s red-light district around Langstrasse with his camera in his pocket. He took photos of the advertising vitrines around the erotic-dance scene located there. A selection of these photographs of artistic dancers were then printed out and overworked by Steinbrecher.

BLONDE by Nico Vascellari, Published by NERO

BLONDE, Nico Vascellari, Nero

Blonde is an artist’s book by Nico Vascellari, printed in 500 hand numbered copies + 33 multiples including an original work, numbered and signed by the artist. Published by NERO in collaboration with Hospital Productions.
Conceived both as a book and an artwork, Blonde is a collection of images from one of the artist’s personal archives: a selection of 200 press clippings titled “Blonde”. Each press clipping has been reproduced in its own original format on 80 gsm glossy paper, as ripped and collected by the artist over the last ten years. The whole collection, printed on unbound single sheets, is packaged in a black cardboard box, silkscreened and individually numbered.
The pages of this publication derive for the most part from fashion magazines. The iconographic theme of “the blonde” is represented obsessively. The sequence of the images is random, as is the selection of press clippings. This archive reflects the artist’s personal fetish for the image, in this case of blondes and their collective representation.
Nico Vascellari is considered one of the most important Italian artists of his generation. Coming out of the punk-hardcore scene, his work is a mix of visual art, performance and sound exploration.

Crushed by Jason Fulford

Crushed is Jason Fulford’s second book. This selection of color photographs was inspired by the contrasting simultaneous feelings of sadness and humor. The pictures were taken from 1997 to 2001 in the United States, Canada, France, Hungary, India, Iceland, China and Romania.

Balanced Acts, Jonathan Monk & Ariel Schlesinger

A new exhibition of collaborative works by Jonathan Monk and Ariel Schlesinger.

The starting point of this series of works was a long distance dialogue, followed by an intense discussion centered around the idea of equilibrium and the failure of finding a perfect balance.

The work of “Balance Acts” comprises of 24 photographs by Swiss duo Fischli and Weiss. Each image has been carefully manipulated, installed within its own defined setting and illuminated by what appears to be a candle stick simply stuck into a wine bottle. Real objects have been added and real objects have been removed.
