This Week – Issues 1,2 and 3. Sealed set.

They say print and newspaper are an obsolete and dying form of media. This Week is an art paper reanimating elements of the press. Reflecting on the conditions of this traditional industry This Week uses and abuses forms and issues of newspapers. Each issue is made by a different artist. So far Felix Weigand and Kasper Andreasen have dealt with headlines and comic strips. ‘Quarter Report I – Men With Ties’ is the title for Alon Levins new issue of This Week.

A reconstruction of a printed sheet of Ken Garland and Robert Chapman’s game Connect, designed by Ken Garland and Associates for the James Galt Toy Company in 1969. Including an interview with Ken Garland conducted in 2006.

This publication combines a reconstruction of a printed sheet of the popular board game ‘Connect’ with an interview conducted at Ken Garland’s home studio in September 2006. During the interview Garland referred to an interesting detail regarding the design of the game:

“Now, I want to tell you something that a lot of people don’t know. The clue to this game is the template from which all these tiles are cut. When the game came out a lot of companies started to make copies, there was an Italian company, somebody in the United States, Japan – they never seemed to get it quite right. […] If they’d sat down long enough with the original and assembled it – worked out how it would have been layed up to be printed and cut – it wouldn’t have needed too much ingenuity to figure this out.”

“El poder de la convocatoria” (the power of the open call) by Mireia Saladrigues

This book looks at how an artistic project seeks the involvement of the recipients of the work, together with the reasons why people do, or do not, take part in the dynamics of interaction.  This was achieved by inviting random members of the public to participate in the project and interviewing those who took part, compiling their opinions and personal information. This book contains the conversations that were had as well as documentation of the project itself.
