This publication is the first monograph by Ali Cherri. Through an introduction by the artist, four essays and an interview, this book reveals the political, aesthetic and dreamlike dimensions of a work that the artist has been developing for over fifteen years.
Born in Beirut, Ali Cherri lives and works between Beirut and Paris. He belongs to this generation of Lebanese artists born during the civil war whose work has been strongly affected by this context of instability.

Markus Ziegler was born in Heidelberg in 1981 and is both of German and Mexican background. He graduated from photography school in London in 2003 where he pursued his interest in architecture through the camera. He currently lives in the mountains of Southern California with his family.
Λ (Lambda) is an artist book by Micol Assaël which collects a series of 72 drawings made by the artist starting in 2011 as a reflection on light.
The work well exemplifies Assaël’s interest in natural phenomena and in their unpredictability which often makes it impossible for the artist to control the work. The drawings “describe” biomorphic figures inscribed within circles, and are based on the attempt to define a blot of color despite its constant modification over time. Unlike previous series of drawings, Λ (Lambda) is made with orange enamel and blue ink.
The drawings, conceived to be charged with light, have been exposed to direct, very intense sources of illumination. The title Λ (Lambda) alludes to the symbol used in physics for the wavelength of light.
“I don’t remember, but since I was very young, drawing is one habit of mine. After many changes and attempts, I worked on the same type of drawing for about six or seven years. I made a book out of some of the drawings I worked on. Of course, personal things will also be reflected but there is no topic and answer. I just do the act of drawing habitually. It can be personal or universal. It looks like a familiar person or a familiar character shape, or it is not. You can also watch fairy tales and cartoons. Or it may seem like an extreme reality. Or lines and lumps. Or just paper and graphite. It seems to be full, or it is empty, repetition and flow, or there is a difference and disconnection. And it was planned or happened to happen to be. It is constantly familiar and unfamiliar between everything and something. The size, paper and texture of the book are also parts of this context.”

Good Life was awarded with the German Photo Book Prize 21/22 in silver. Good Life is a hybrid of a photobook and an artist catalog that summarizes the work from 2017 to 2021 by artist Meike Mann& (b. 1991 in Nuremberg, Germany). It’s the first book Mannel published after her graduation from Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg, Germany and goes hand in hand with her exhibition at Kunsthaus Nurnberg in Nuremberg. in order to realize this project, she applied for a debutant promotion. Meike Marine’ works mainly on different ongoing series, a selection of which is presented in the first part of the artistbook. After a paper change beginning halfway, there are two texts about Manners work by art historian Dr. Teresa Bischoff (former professor of Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg) and writer Anna Hofmann (masters study at Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig). In the back of the book, her more experimental photo silkscreens and photo installations are shown. Marine seeks to preserve the ephemeral with this project. The shown motifs deal with the longing for distance, the uncertainty and the question of survival. In loud and softer colors it presents a world that often lies unnoticed in front of us and whose aesthetics one takes for granted, without recognizing what is special about it.
Rehabilitation of Ancestors is an artist’s book based on the media research of Vienna-based artist Yoshinori Niwa. In recent years, Niwa has tried to diversify his approach by using different media forms, from direct interventions in the space, such as performances and happenings, to public campaigns using traditional media. For example, in the work “Dragging Adolf Hitler out of Private Space” (2018), he dared to place an advertisement in a daily newspaper, which is now considered as an old media, and planned to contact the elderly generation in order to get to know their ancestors who lived during the Nazi regime, which casts a dark shadow over Austria. Web works such as “Having a Birthday Party for Someone” (2019), a week-long random viewing of more than 600 videos of private birthday parties uploaded to YouTube but left unseen by most people, are an example of how people socialise in the age of social media. (2019), which was inspired by the way people socialize in the age of social media. In this age of high performance visual media, which are now easily accessible to everyone, the artist is determined to grasp a new image of humanity and to move society forward in the face of these changing roles.

Arts For Living takes a close look at the abrons arts center, a community art facility in the lower east side, as a case study for an architecture designed to address issues of public space and community life. the center was built during the 1970’s fiscal crisis and designed by prentice and chan, ohlhausen as a cultural institution with new educational facilities intended to enable, foster and serve the everyday activities of the local low-income population.

Catalogue suggests an artist’s exhibition catalogue, but is rather a chronological compilation of auction catalogues presenting the sales of the mid-century furniture designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret for Chandigarh, India, featured in Amie Siegel’s multi-element film installation Provenance (2013). An aside, an addendum, an index, the publication ends with the Christie’s London catalogue page from the 2013 auction of Provenance itself in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Sale, which completes the economic circuit of the project.
