Forde Motto est une librairie, un espace de lecture et un lieu d’exposition de l’écriture créé à Forde
en collaboration avec Motto Distribution. Ouvert en permanence pendant les deux années à venir, et
conçu en parallèle du programme d’expositions, Forde Motto est une tentative d’établissement à Genève
d’un espace de circulation de publications indépendantes, de livres d’artistes, d’ouvrages théoriques,
de revues et de fanzines, mais aussi d’un lieu de conversation et de présentation de projets éditoriaux.

Der Ausgangspunkt für das Buch “Liner Notes. Gespräche über das Bücher-
machen, Leipzig z.B.” war eine Anzahl Bücher, die in den vergangenen
Jahren von Buchgestalterinnen und Buchgestaltern produziert wurden, die
an an der Leipziger Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst studiert haben.
Den Herausgebern Markus Dreßen, Lina Grumm, Anne König und Jan Wenzel
ging es nicht darum, den Output aus Leipzig retrospektiv aufzubereiten.
Viel wichtiger war ihnen, ein paar Dinge mit dem Buch voranzutreiben. Es
liest sich deshalb eher wie eine Mitschrift der laufenden Produktion.
— Was heißt es, ein Buch zu gestalten? “Liner Notes” geht dieser Frage
in fiktiven Dialogen und Gesprächsprotokollen nach, in denen Buch-
gestalterinnen detailliert über den Entstehungsprozess eines ihrer
Bücher sprechen. Entstanden ist so eine Reflexion im Medium: Ein Buch,
das aus Büchern gemacht ist und dessen Gebrauchswert darin liegt, Ideen
für neue Bücher zu geben.

The nice people behind Dings opened up a new store in the Zurich old town district. It’s called ON Y VA (rive gauche) and I think Tom Ford would be skeptical about going there. But, I heard from people who attended the opening, that they did a very nice job and it’s gonna be fresh for Züri.
