Like There’s No Tomorrow” is a new book on young Lithuanian photography. Works from 12 emerging artists are presented in an innovative form that invites a dialogue between different photographers’ works, acquainting the viewer with the new tradition in photography and its contemporary post-Internet expression. The works in the publication reveal the shifting aesthetic of young generation photographers, new overtones and the medium’s relationship with objects, all of which are put into a context by four essays by international critics of photography. “Like There’s No Tomorrow” presents photography that so far has been rarely seen in Lithuania and aims to facilitate artistic and critical dialogue around the new ideas this photography carries.

“A teenage utopia of freedom, rebellion and lawlessness is set in a parallel society, fuelled by destructive drugs and little state or parental protection.”

The book Cinci Lei follows the lives of Nicu, Stefan, Costel, Liviu and many friends that inhabit tunnels underneath the streets of Bucharest.

Jurga Daubaraitė (Ed.)

“She, the grid system is aware only of her corners, not of her straight lines. She perceives her own space and those persons who traverse her space as flat entities moving swiftly and without substance.” – Maria Fusco.

The artist book New Reproductions, published in conjunction with David Maljković’s exhibition at CAC Vilnius, is a dense object jn which the textual contributions function as poetic and fictional response to the artist’s collaged 48 images. Here, Maljković provides a certain utilitarian take on re-reading, remembering, incompleteness, and exhaustion as artistic positions in order to assemble filiations between works separated by time span and by his changing ideas.

New Reproduction is part of MIDI, an imprint of Mousse Publishing initiated by Åbäke

Take as long as you might take, you might take long. Ryan Gander. Daiwa Press Co., Ltd & Dent-de-Leone.

Photographs by Takashi Homma & Ryan Gander

Take as long as you might take, you might take long documents an installation by Ryan Gander, commissioned by and first exhibited at Daiwa Viewing Room, Hiroshima, Japan. A standard ceiling mounted sprinkler system in the otherwise empty gallery space is switched on for the duration of the show, the water being invisibly drained from the space and recycled back into the sprinkler system. During the exhibition Ryan Gander instigates and directs a photoshoot of three Japanese females modelling oversized Thom Browne men’s suits within the space. The images of the photoshoot are printed on the interior of the traditional Japanese binding method, meaning the reader must cut the publication to discover the hidden half of the book.
