Clemens von Wedemeyer: Drehbuch

Wie ein Film im Raum wird »Drehbuch« (2001) vom Künstler und Filmemacher Clemens von Wedemeyer
als Live-Hörspiel-Projektion mit Marie-Lou Sellem, Bernhard Schütz (SprecherInnen) und
Thomas Wallmann (Geräusche) aufgeführt.

»Drehbuch« ist eine Montage von filmtheoretischen Texten, die von Angehörigen der Filmindustrie gesprochen werden. Die ProtagonistInnen von »Drehbuch« sind u.a. Regieanweisungen, eine Sprecherin aus dem Off, ein Zuschauer, eine Cutterin, ein Reporter, eine Putzfrau, eine Professorin und Untertitel. In sechs Kapiteln sind verschiedene Szenen aneinander geschnitten, die im Bild als zeitlich parallele Erzählungen laufen. Ähnlich der Filmskript-Weise von Guy Debord trägt, verbindet und trennt der montierte Text in Drehbuch die Zeitlichkeiten und (Un-)Sichtbarkeiten der Szenen. Es sind Szenen aus dem Tonstudio, vor einer Kinokasse, vor einem Bürogebäude, auf einem Platz, in der Filiale eines Autohändlers und in einem Hörsaal.
»Es ist an der Zeit, die Frage nach der Kultur der Kinosprache erneut in aller Schärfe zu stellen. Dass sich aus diesem Anlass alle Kinoschaffenden äußern, ist wichtig.« (S. Eisenstein)

FOR THE BLIND MAN IN THE DARK ROOM LOOKING FOR THE BLACK CAT THAT ISN’T THERE

A catalogue for a travelling exhibition, ‘For a blind man in the dark room…’ starts with the premise that art is not a code that needs cracking. Rather, celebrating the speculative nature of knowledge and curiosity, the artists in this group exhibition are eager to keep art separate from explanation. Embracing a spirit of curiosity, the catalogue is dedicated to the playfulness of being in the dark and features contributions from such names as: Marcel Broodthaers, Sarah Crowner, Eric Duyckaerts, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Fischli & Weiss, Giorgio Morandi, Rachel Harrison, Rosemarie Trockel and Patrick van Caeckenbergh. Edited and sublimely designed by Will Holder, the catalogue also includes 15 large-scale colour cards featuring works by participating artists that come inserted in the back inside cover of the publication.
