After the heist of historical jewellery and art objects out of the Green Vault in Dresden, the case has been reported worldwide. The reports and narrations around spectacular incident quickly drifted into peculiar vocabulary, provoking projections and prejudices against the city of Dresden and its citizens. The discrepancy between personal experience and conveyed attributions about Dresden do manifest the initial point of the project I LOST MY GEMS. Manuel Sékou– raised in Dresden and the artist behind the venture – directs his perspective back to his hometown and youth within the years of the 2000-10s, to confront dynamics of the inner-German history in relation to his own socialization and thus to carve out dispositions of socio-political patterns of behavior induced by collective uncertainty: interference of adolescence with shadows a collapsed system…Sampling in parallel to the investigations of the Soko Epaulette(special commision) the project seeks for treasures of memory and collects potential pieces of evidence of hidden symptoms of the past in the present. To decode the X-Factor of Dresden beyond the mediated image through the mode of visual language.

Forms of Migration explores the potential of literary and aesthetic forms of expression to shape our understanding of transnational migration processes. The volume emphasises form because it is often the compositional structure and rhetoric of texts and images – their literary nature and formal qualities – that impact readers and beholders, opening up new interpretations of im/migrant experiences and identities.

Addressing im/migrant forms of expression around the globe, this rich, illustrated collection includes poetry, creative nonfiction, interviews, analyses of diasporic fashion, cinema, and mixed media installations, as well as performances turned into writing, photographic work, collages, and drawings. Forms of Migration shows us how to apprehend migration differently, through innovative storytelling, offering opportunities to confront the complexity of migration processes.

Rosie Ruiz was a non-professional runner who cheated during the 1979 New York City Marathon and the 1980 Boston Marathon.

This book relates the nine days of investigation and doubts which took place between april 22, the day of her victory in Boston, and april 30, the day her disqualification. During these nine days we discovered the testimonies of the protagonists of the case: Rosie, runners, winners, losers, the direction of the marathon and family. This story was a big buzz in the media. The reader gradually discovers all the elements of the story, like an inspector interviewing witnesses. Step by step, links and evidences are made and after 9 days of investigation the reader can determine whether yes or no Rosie Ruiz cheated during these two marathons.
