Product Description

Dedicated to the film & installation works of Lisbon artist Alexandre Estrela, this book is published on the occasion of Métal Hurlant, his exhibition (& the last) at the Paris space of the Galouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Conceived as a toolbox, it dis- & re-assembles the recent works of the Estrela, following various methodologies of describing, analyzing & interpreting proposed by the artist himself as well as close collaborators. The texts by Sergio Mah, Sophie Cavoulacos, Miguel Magalhães, François Piron, Joël Vacheron and Marco Bene, are the results of investigations on Estrela's body of work and play the role of a walk-through guide disclosing an exploration centered on the idea of metal, from its visual, sonic and haptic properties, to the psychic and physiological impact of the discordance of its perception.
