Conversations with Time, Past and Present

Conversations with Time Past and Present brings together a body of drawings produced by Linda Karshan during the first Covid-19 lockdown in New York. The memory of her father’s crippling polio affliction in the 1952/53 epidemic and his gallant battle against it became the inspiration for this prolific body of work.

This inspirational book includes an introduction to Karshan’s unique drawing practice and personal history by Jonathan Casciani, a transcript from the film Covid-19: Conversation directed by Ishmael Fiifi Annobil and an essay by Giulia Martina Weston that relates the work to Renaissance history and a ‘library of experience’.
