Product Description
Enzo tells me that the polaroids arose in parallel with his usual work practice, popping up around, wild flowers a bit punk, without going in search of them, “it’s like time going by.”He almost didn’t notice this important corpus growing, taking on texture, personality, fueled by his own light-hearted doing, by quick, loose shots that happened in the pauses of other shots, those, on the other hand, the result of meticulously studied poses and framing, belonging to a rigorous ritual. Gradually they created a kind of private visual diary, a backstage documentation taken by scattered and unstructured notes, where he allowed himself the freedom, the listening, the breathing, where he pinned down and retained what his almost obsessive precision and total control of every detail, in search of the perfect shot, never allowed him. The polaroids constitute a separate path, a budding from the main body of his work, where a detachment occurs, a suspension of responsibility and domination. Enzo is the first spectator of what happens. He shares in the surprise. – Olga Gambari
