The book provides an extensive survey of Ionuț Cioană’s artistic practice while also presenting a selection of texts he wrote over the years. These writings offer a glimpse into his mental laboratory, unveiling the psychological dimension inherent in the artistic process. Ionuț Cioană (1980–2020) worked under the pseudonym Mircea Nicolae, a figure who made a lasting impact on the Romanian cultural scene. His profile as an artist-intellectual was marked by a continuous process of self-reflection and self-positioning within the artistic system.

The volume comprises essays by Magda Radu, Alexandra Croitoru, Ștefan Sava, Anca Oroveanu, Jacob Mikanowski, Veda Popovici, Raluca Voinea & Sharon, Ștefan Tiron, and a selection of the artist's own writings.
