Benga, Kaléidoscope Kenyan

Based on the works and research conducted by FLEE Project regarding Benga music showcased in their first issue, this publication illustrates the complex relationships between local music genres, cultural appropriation questions, north/south exchanges and explores new forms of dematerialized artistic practises.

With the exceptional contributions of Mbithi Masya (acclaimed Kenyan movie director and founder of the iconic Kenyan music band Just A Band), Kenyan electronic music producer KMRU (former Red Bull Music Academy ALUMNI), Atelier Uzehn (Swiss graphic designers in charge of the first FLEE Issue), Andrew Eisenberg (Professor of Music at the New York University), and many others, this book aims to explore in a provocative manner the new outlines of cultural heritage in Europe and Africa.
