Product Description

In an earlier work, Bertschi investigates the transit reality of international airports. During a Journey to 10 airports in different geographies and time-zones, she attempts to understand the relationship between the inner and the other spaces of such transit zones, in-between-territories and spaces of flow that exist mostly in peripheral geographies while being distinctly circumscribed by hermetic perimeters. The psychological ecology that Bertschi detects points at the hermetic seclusion of the system that she presents - knowing that as a holder of a swiss passport such movement is easy. her work proposes photography as a form of evidence that transforms research into practice. As a result of her interest in nomad thought, Bertschi carefully investigates location and identity as an index of contemporary human existence in a globalized yet localized world.
