Zines from Gaza is a publishing initiative by Coastal Lines Press, a collective of writers living under siege and genocide in Gaza.
Through donation-based access and grassroots distribution, their words are
traveling the world—funding essential aid and amplifying Palestinian voices.
Sondos A. Al-Saqqa, a voice emanating from the vibrant heart of Gaza, was born on January 9th, 1995. She has lived through numerous wars, including the latest devastating war. She cherishes reading, writing, and conversations with friends. Her debut book, Aerie Tales, was first published in Japan in September of 2024 in collaboration with its illustrator Ken Tanaka, and has gone on to be sold around the world with translations
into multiple languages including Japanese, Chinese, French, Italian, German, and Catalan. Her latest book, The Heart’s Gaze, is illustrated by Ken Tanaka and Maya Lall.
“With a heart that sees and a soul that contemplates, Sondos has crafted a book that invites readers on an exploratory journey into existence, where texts resonate with both mind and heart. Come, embark on a voyage through The Heart's Gaze. We wish you a fascinating read.”

Coastal Lines Press is a collective of writers in Gaza turning words into life-saving support for their families. Through the Zines from Gaza initiative, they create and distribute small booklets of poetry, essays, and testimonies that carry stories of survival, resistance, and hope. Each zine is available worldwide thanks to volunteers and solidarity networks. 100% of profits go directly to the authors, offering critical aid during the ongoing siege and genocide in Gaza. Our name honors the coastline of Gaza and the lines of language that connect writers with readers around the world.
