With every mile walked you feel pain and happiness
blending on the road.
Mysterious seems this journey
Even to you sometimes, but
wonderful tastes the freedom.
So you walk, on tired legs
always until this day’s rest, and laugh:
Cause on you go tomorrow before sunrise
anyways.

It is cold, when the world sleeps
Before the blue hour comes around.
The silence out there becomes the silence in you
And sometimes it feels alive.
Then you walk on, and gaze, and dream
Of the beauty of all things
Their shadow reaching from here to Berlin –
You hear barking dogs on distant streets.

Only a stroke of wing from you
A few thousand kilometers
The dancer spins
Leaving her hot trail, not fully forgotten...
She grasps for you, still in your soul
And lets you go
With a step as light as feather.

The thoughts dissolve
With every step
Every breath
With the passing sigh of trucks.
In-between pictures, people, coffee –
Not a bad life, really, you think –
A meek smile, a touch of hair, a ray of sunlight...
Now trapped forever by the camera.
