My private: escaped from Italy

The catalogue and the group exhibition (November 2006 - February 2007) My private escaped from Italy reports on and completes the cycle of five monographic exhibitions MY PRIVATE, which offer a thoughtful selection of works belonging each time to an unpublished private collection. Unlike the other monographic exhibitions, My private escaped from Italy took place in an institutional setting, with a duration extended in time, no longer a personal one as in the previous sessions, but a collective one. In keeping with the original format, however, the artists present at Vassivière - Francis Alÿs, Micol Assaël, Kris Martin, Michael Sailstorfer, Hans Schabus, Gregor Schneider and Patrick Tuttofuoco - had been invited to project new works and installations linked to the theme of the private.
In this catalogue, the exhibited works only appear in their dismantling phase, taken in the prism of their technicality, in their crates ready to return to their rightful owner's house.
