Fragments

Joseph Hart lives and works in New York City. His current works on paper focus on belief and value systems: specifically exchanges between hierarchies, economics, the politics of control, and personal priorities. The work also investigates how value can be illustrated (and manipulated) within museums and galleries through different modes of display. Presentation fixtures such as pedestals, frames and vitrines are reoccurring images in his artwork, providing formal structure while also serving as symbols of significance.
