Escritexpográfica

Escritexpográfica is the doctoral thesis by Brazilian artist Fabio Morais structured around two different but interconnected methodological and formal approaches. The first is dedicated to producing critical essays on the statements themselves, isolated from the artworks that structure them. It is an attempt to construct a critical body of knowledge about writing as a visual arts practice. The second commits to the building of a ‘textual exhibition space’ where artwork statements are ‘installed’ in much the same way that works of art are in the physical space of the gallery so as to confer a curatorial discourse.
