OMP 30.3: A Task For Poetry #3: Some Of That Colour

A Task For Poetry aims to unveil the poetic domain in the presentation of visual art. In order to do so, three poets were invited to guest-curate three solo-exhibitions, with an artist of their choice, and to publish three accompanying books, with a designer of their choice. The participants were asked: 'How can we envision and experience the poetic domain in art?'

In this third edition, poet-curator Maria Barnas invited the artist Amalia Pica and designer Felix Weigand to collaborate. Tempted by her playful work and loose approach to the relationship between the signified and the signifier, to matter and the story attached to that matter, they engaged in a play of storytelling. Amalia spoke, via drawings and found materials, of Robinson Crusoe, copying old book covers. Gestures of empathy spoke via these remakes, giving birth to lively story-lines. Accordingly, Felix Weigand started producing a bundle of booklets, putting forth the dialogue of this play.
