Jurkjes en Jason: 27 Views On Terrorism Today

Terrorism. Terror. Two words appearing more often in our society today. What do they really mean? What is really so frightening about terrorism? And perhaps more importantly, what is the effect of terrorism on our tiny little country?

Students of the Eindhoven Design Academy, Faculty of Man and Communication, have worked on a project about the representation of terrorism, under the guidance of designer and teacher Annelys de Vet, and in collaboration with Freek Lomme, director of Eindhoven based presentation-institution and publishing company Onomatopee.

The resulting book shares, through beautiful pictures and designs, the students' views on modern society's grappling with the term terrorism, as they ask questions as diverse as "Who or what is terrorizing your life?", "How does a terrorist-type face look?", and "How can terrorism be sold as a product?" Also included is a preface by Max Bruinsma.
