Let’s not dispute the useless…

The content of this book is the result of a series of solo exhibitions; staged outside of any gallery space, visually undocumented, and taking place without visitors.

The artist group Am Nuden Da invited Gerry Bibby, Juliette Blightman, Kerstin Brätsch, Oliver Laric and Ghislaine Leung to make exhibitions that were conceived from the outset to be made public solely as writing.

Each of the artists responded with exhibitions of their own design: a liaison with a ghost-writer; a day trip to a bourgeois seaside resort; filmmaking in a 15th-century monster park; a guided tour of an external hard-drive; and an intimate screening with cloved oranges. The outings were retrospectively conjured into text by the artists and their hosts, published here as a collection of “agreed-upon fictions”.
