Hammer's dream diaries (2007-present) serve as a source and archive of the artist's work; experiences of trips, fabulous creatures, political or prominent encounters or inscrutable phenomena which evoked euphoric as well as daunting emotions are assembled in pictorial and plastic elements through collage. The idea of the ornamental and of figuratively describing shapes is summarized in his multi-line texts, the self-portrait, animals, bodies and flower still lifes. The artist's working process and self-perception is an open exchange of the daily experiences and the order of reality. Consecutively his projections are characterized by a dialogue between the ego and the world. Weltenzyklopädie shows two-page reproductions of pages in Hammer's books that approach the romantic ideal of the artist as maniac.
