The catalogue is released in occasion of the exhibition of Corinne von Lebusa at the Stadtgalerie Schwaz in Tyrol from 07.11.09 til 19.12.09.
Corinne von Lebusas paintings often appear fantastic or surreal. Objects emerge, facial expressions, gestures and actions between figures that can‘t be classified. Surroundings tat seem oddly familiar and out-of-place at the same time. Thereby the works convey an intangible tension that draw the observer into this world of images and keep him at bay at the same time. The paintings offer an insight into a seemingly isolated, strange world. Like through the keyhole, you look into a forbidden room and feel like a voyeur or as while staring into the abyss - you are glad and sad at once to remain on the outside.
