I'm not on fire

The publication is released on the occasion of the exhibition "The difference between you and me is that I'm not on fire" showing works of the Leipzig artist at galerieKleindienst from October 21 to November 20, 2010.

The book assembles selected texts by the Leipzig artist Carsten Tabel written in the past four years. Texts that were initially meant to comment his own works or those of other artists stand indistinctive right beside autonomous texts. Despite or maybe because of the lack of eventual references and fictional characters the distant observations, smart associations and suddenly explicit portrayals of everyday life shine a light on our reality, which is simply "das Böse" in the eyes of Carsten Tabel, "weniger ein Ort als eine unförmige kalte Masse."
