„Album“ is an artist book realized in 2006 that constructs a biographie of the 20th century in the form of a private photo album. The reproduced album has never excisted. Composed of the most different archives a fictitious life is told, that hasn‘t taken place in one but partially in many biographies. This photo album seems to have become the basis of a historical scientifical research: At the bottom of each facsimile page footnotes can be found, that try to interpret images and supposed personal notes, to analyse and to place the material in any larger context. Lexical and like in school text books they follow the tradition of explanatory historiography, that is here confronted with inconsistent footage and thereby carried out ad absurdem.
