Product Description
The construction of a bank branch in Bouge (Belgium) - the subject of this book - was completed in June 2009. It generated a collection of documents, artefacts and intangible connections. We have organised all this in an editorial form, making it possible to read through a process, removing all mystique from every element to bring it down to its basic function and structure, the tool.
The format of the book refers to this process which reveals the development in a suspended state, at the research stage. The manufacturing process of the book stops two steps short of its completion, thus showing the very progression of its production. The book consists of 240 pages, 32 of which are in full colour, some needing to be cut out, others containing hidden printing; all together, they present, in reverse chronology the contents of the architectural and spatial research.
We chose to involve the journalist Sebastien Redecke from the Berlin architectural weekly Bauwelt, as well as photographers Marie-Françoise Plissart, Philippe Degobert, and François Brix in this project.
We offer you the opportunity to take part in this book project by subscribing to its prepublication sale at a preferential price of EUR 20 (exclusive of shipping costs), instead of EUR 25, and this until 30 June 2010. As soon as it is officially published on 17 June 2010, we will be happy to send it to you by post. Naturally, from June 25th on this book will be on sale in all the book stores supporting and selling our publications.
