“Die Übergänge sind rätselhaft” deals with the dualism of nature and technology, animated and inanimated, construction and organism, design and condition. The book collects drawings of various constructions of landscape such as gardens and parks, as well as virtual landscapes in computer games and 3D simulations. The drawings are records of representations -of nature- and what we consider, or use, as nature: in our urban and suburban environment, or in imagined or digitally generated landscapes. They are trying to create a neutral level which questions the opposition of natural and artificial, virtual and real. A level of the enigmatic transitions and not one of confrontation.
