In June, 2003 a hundred-year-old book with the title "Heiligen-Legende" ('Holy Legends") was found. It had belonged to a farmer named Walburga Wiedemann, and between its pages was a loose collection, without any recognizable order, of private notes, photographs, newspaper cut-outs, obituaries, and Christian images. Forty years after Frau Wiedemann's death, Nicola Reiter, then student of the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig) took the papers collected within as a starting point for her final project research, bringing the papers back to the village where Frau Wiedemann had lived and asking relatives and the current residents to help her unravel the clues to a life.
