every day we are swamped with spam. Unbeatable offers, eternal salvation, superior wisdom, heartbreaking fates … Unthinkable that anyone on earth actually falls for these obvious baits. Delete without reading!

But let’s forget for a moment, that the originators of those mails try to generate responses and clicks, to finally get into our pockets, playing with our naivety, our cravings, our greed, our avidity.

Doris Kaiser, Roy Cockrum, Jacqueline French, Karl Albrecht, Pro. Doc. Oliver Gross and Charlotte Habouaoz et al.—what if they were real people?

This is a tribute to their creators. To the con­signors of spam—honouring their ingenuity, their in­cessant drive to invent people and stories with undreamt-of versatility.
