PiXXL_Hall / A La Kul Le Lun

The pioneers of digital culture, artist Elisa Rose and composer Gary Danner aka STATION ROSE, perform new audiovisual compositions created exclusively for donaufestival, which they will mix with digital works developed since 1988. For the commissioned work “PiXXL_HALL” the complete Klangraum Krems Minorite Church will be staged as a live concert and installation space. Within the immersive four-hour media environment STATION ROSE will also reinterpret their “Public Brain Session”. It was originally programmed in 1989 on Atari and Amiga computers, then further developed together with the cyberspace guru Timothy Leary, and is now transported into the year 2016: Performed with contemporary technology, “PUBLIC BRAIN SESSION 2.0” is the reloaded world premiere of STATION ROSE’s alpha and thetawaves art form, which was inspired by Oriental aesthetics they discovered during their Cairo residency in 1988.
