Für die Ausstellung «Dialog I» waren Karen Geyer und Renée Levi eingeladen ; sich mit der Arbeit der anderen auseinanderzusetzen und für die Kunsthalle Palazzo in Liestal eine gemeinsame Präsentation zu entwickeln. Die Künstlerinnen haben ein Raumkonzept mit vier grossen ; mit halbtransparentem Baumwollstoff bespannten Chassis entworfen. Das Format nimmt am kleinsten Raum Mass und füllt diesen gänzlich. Die an die Wände gelehnten Bildrahmen verändern das Raumgefüge ; verstellen oder verlängern Durchgänge oder zerteilen einen Saal. Entstanden ist in den verdunkelten Räumen eine vom kalten LED-Licht beleuchtete Gesamtinszenierung ; in der sich Bewegungsabläufe und Schattenwürfe sowohl der Malerei als auch der Musikinstallationen verschränken. Eine Passage in eine andere Welt. Die sich in der Zeit quasi unendlich erstreckende und leicht wandelnde ; analog erzeugte Tonspur trifft auf die performative ; sich gleichsam aus der Wiederholung von Bewegungsrhythmen formierende ; malerische Geste von Renée Levi. Für die vorliegende Edition haben die beiden Künstlerinnen ihre Zusammenarbeit über die Ausstellung hinaus weitergeführt und gemeinsam das klassische Format einer Langspielplatte bespielt. Während Karen Geyer eine Auswahl an Sounds aus der Ausstellung und Aufnahemen in den Räumen des Palazzo zu neun neuen Stücken zusammenstellt ; hat Renée Levi alle 350 Covers ausgelegt und mit Roller und schwarzer Acrylfarbe bearbeite.

For the exhibition "Dialog I" Karen Geyer and Renée Levi were invited to deal with the work of the others and to develop a joint presentation for the Kunsthalle Palazzo in Liestal. The artists designed a spatial concept with four large chassis covered with semi-transparent cotton fabric. The format measures the smallest space and fills it completely. The picture frames leaning against the walls change the structure of the room; they adjust or lengthen passageways or divide a hall. The result in the darkened rooms is an overall staging illuminated by cold LED light, in which movement sequences and shadow casts of both the painting and the music installations intertwine. A passage into another world. The sound track, which stretches almost infinitely over time and changes slightly, is produced analogously and meets the performative gesture of Renée Levi, which is formed, as it were, by the repetition of movement rhythms. For the present edition, the two artists have continued their collaboration beyond the exhibition and recorded together in the classical format of a long-playing record. While Karen Geyer has put together a selection of sounds from the exhibition and recordings in the rooms of the Palazzo to create nine new pieces, Renée Levi has laid out all 350 covers and worked them with roller and black acrylic paint.
