La Start-Up: A Reader

Catalog of the 24th session of the artists' residency Les Ateliers des Arques in Lot, France, curated by guest artistic director Dorothée Dupuis. Deliberately experimental in its structure, intentions and achievements, “The Start-Up’s,” as the session was titled, was made up of an online magazine, a residency and an exhibition, and took place in the small village of Les Arques, France, but also internationally and virtually. From April to September 2014, it acted as a diffuse cloud that gathered the trajectories of many busy, talented and creative individuals. "La Start-Up: A Reader" is an idealist attempt to freeze the unceasing stream of our mutual feeds, and to generate a critical discourse about how the Internet has influenced recent art production, challenging positions of power between centers and peripheries but also creating new synergies between heterogeneous communities.
