Product Description

“Admittedly, it was only on the third look that the peculiar title of this publication from Kuehn Malvezzi struck me. Here again, an ostensible fait divers (a spelling error) has suddenly become a fait accompli (a new concept). It is clear, though, that the architects have contextually enriched the furniture they call Mödel by drawing associative connections—depending on how their neologism is pronounced—not only to the model (an example to follow) and model (a living mannequin), but also to module (a standardized part), module (a unit of measurement in classical and Renaissance architecture), and modulus (a constant describing a material property)... Kuehn Malvezzi’s designs seem so utterly unspectacular at first glance because of the way they deliberately play with memorey [sic], which is known, of course, for being slightly fuzzy and unclear most of the time.“ – Moritz Küng
