Karton Tandem is dedicated to Romanian contemporary photography.
Dora Tishmann, born in the former Yugoslavia (Serbia), has lived in France since 2005. A graduate of the National University of Arts, Bucharest, she has in recent years focused mainly on photography, finding inspiration in creation myths and the origins of the universe, as well as in langua- ges, scripts, and alphabets, which she interprets through body and movement. Transformation, metamorphosis, and animation are central to the photographic series in which she explores energy, the invisible, and the phenomenon of psychokinesis. Her most recent work investigates the mate- riality of light via experimental photography and employing electricity as a medium.
