Give & Take

A publication related to the public art project *Give & Take* by Antoanetta Marinov, created in cooperation with Kunsthalle Mannheim.

It includes a foreword by Sebastian Baden, with graphic design and layout by Andrea Nicolò. The publication consists of 16 + 8 pages, in black and white, produced via digital print. Published in 2017, the first edition is limited to 30 numbered copies.

In 2017, the artist realized eight gift displays for the city of Mannheim, supported by Mannheimer Bürgerstiftung and Stiftung der Sparkasse Rhein Neckar Nord. This public work, initiated by the artist, forms part of her ongoing research on the concept of the gift, which she has been exploring since 2005 through urban displays offering items for free.

*Give & Take* also references “Give & Take Art,” a display offering art for free, raising questions about the value and pricing of artwork. This display was temporarily stationed at Kunstverein Mannheim, Port 25 Raum für Zeitgenössische Kunst, zeitraumexit, and the gallery Theuer + Scherr. Additionally, *Give & Take Art* was exhibited and activated during the opening of Kunsthalle Mannheim as part of the program *On the Move* in 2017. The event featured a dialogue between Antoanetta Marinov and Sebastian Baden, curator of Kunsthalle Mannheim, which provided the occasion for the creation of this publication.
