Product Description
Eau d'or eau dort ODOR is an artist's book by French visual artist Fabrice Hybert, published by UR éditions (Unlimited Responsibility editions) with Cyrille Putman in 1997. The work consists of 365 loose A4 sheets — one for each day of the year — printed with drawings and photographs in colour, presented in a green cardboard box. Conceived as the "storyboard for a desired television" (Peinture Homéopathique n°13), the publication documents Hybert's sprawling visual practice of accumulation, hybridisation, and proliferation across drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, and video. The verso of each sheet was intentionally left blank, with an invitation to recycle — a characteristically playful gesture folding ecology and everyday use into the work's conceptual logic. Published in an edition of 6,000 copies, the book was produced on the occasion of the 47th Venice Biennale, where Hybert was awarded the Golden Lion for best national pavilion — one of the most celebrated moments in recent French art history.
