EXCESIVA FOTOFOBIA Book I

Excesiva Fotofobia brings to you fun and playful fine art photography. It is curated by photographers for photographers. Each book features the work of two artists, compiled into two 10 image photo-essays, each accompanied with a written response piece from an invited writer, poet, or curator. The book is an art object in itself, handbound with archival materials. The series is entirely produced in New York City, retaining some of its fresh, dynamic flavor.
Book I includes a poem by a mysterious contributor, and essays by curators Juliette McPeak and Emma Louise. Photographic essays by Hijo (Jonas Hidalgo) and BIBIANA reveal a sexualy charged perverse world and serve as reflexions of our culture.
Its editing team hails from opposing corners of the world and uses their clash of commercial and fine art worlds to produce a fresh esthetic that was born of the streets and is right at home in book shelves or inside display cases.

Book I was shortlisted for Athens Photo Festival (Greece) and is part of the permanent collection at Hellenic Center for Photography (Greece).
