A NEW FUTURE

The artists Sylwana Zybura and Tomas C. Toth have teamed up under the name crosslucid. Together they want to develop "a prototype for the new world they want". To achieve this goal, however, some tests and experiments have to be carried out. They focus on a transreal identity, an identity that unites multiple realities and expressive possibilities. This is often perceived as a rapid change or mirroring of a mirage. The identity of many people and their signs of multiple levels of reality today are increasingly lacking in clarity and therefore lead to contradictory interpretations.

Zybura and Toth want to deconstruct the strong personalities of the depicted characters, reevaluate and understand their bodies as landscapes. These should be equipped to become part of an evolution that adapts to new circumstances and technical progress, overcoming gender, race and norms.

The portraits and still lifes shown here are a two-year period of research and are supplemented by a text by the curator and philosopher Simona Squadrito.
