Ute Meta Bauer. Kuratorische Praxis. Interviews und Gespräche

Der vorliegende Band versammelt Gespräche und Interviews von 1991 bis 2011 von und mit Ute Meta Bauer aus mehr als 25 Jahren Praxis als Professorin, Kuratorin und Künstlerin. Entlang der Kapitel "Institutionen", "Akademie", "Kuratorische Praxis" und "Vermitteln" spiegelt sich Bauers Werdegang von der Künstlerischen Leiterin des Künstlerhauses Stuttgart (1990-1994) bis zur Dekanin der School of Fine Arts am Royal College of Art in London (ab Herbst 2012). Zuletzt war sie Professorin und Leiterin des Program in Art, Culture and Technology in der School of Architecture and Planning am MIT Cambridge. Als freie Kuratorin arbeitet Ute Meta Bauer an den Schnittstellen von zeitgenössischer Kunst, Film, Video und Sound. Sie war Ko-Kuratorin der "Documenta11" in Kassel (2002) sowie Künstlerische Leiterin der "3. Berlin Biennale für zeitgenössische Kunst" (2004) und kuratierte u.a. das Mobile_Transborder Archive innerhalb des Projekts "InSite05" in Tijuana, Mexico/San Diego, USA (2005). ***** The present volume is a collection of conversations and interviews from 1991 to 2011 by and with Ute Meta Bauer, gathered from more than 25 years of practice as a professor, curator and artist. Following the guiding themes as "institution", "academy", "curatorial practice" and "education", Bauer's career is reflected from being the artistic director of Künstlerhaus Stuttgart (1990-1994) as far as becoming Dean of the School of Fine Arts at the Royal College of Art, London (as from autumn 2012). Most recently, she has been professor and director of the Program in Art, Culture and Technology at the School of Architecture and Planning at MIT Cambridge. As an independent curator Ute Meta Bauer works at the interfaces of contemporary art, film, video and sound. She was co-curator of "Documenta11" in Kassel (2002) and artistic director of the "3rd Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art" (2004) and curated among others the Mobile_Transborder Archive within the project "InSite05" in Tijuana, Mexico/San Diego, USA (2005).
