Nathan Whipple

Nathan Whipple is a collection of drawings by New York based artist and musician Nathan Whipple.

Prolific in recorded output and live performance, Whipple is also known for the iconic drawings that accompany his albums and concert flyers. For his first book, Whipple created a series of over 100 drawings in his signature graphic style, rendering a perplexing array of "things" (dogs, washing machines, baby heads and machine guns) in bold, cartoonish line. Whipple's obsessive repetition of forms in different combinations creates a rhythm of images, building on themselves to reveal an esoteric index.
