Product Description

In 2013, Aimar Pérez Galí presented his conference-performance Sweating the discourse, with the hypothesis that the dancer is subordinated inside the contemporary arts in general and in the performing arts in specific. The conference intention is to make a genealogy through the voice of the dancer in the moments in which this figure has taken the leading voice, liberating itself from the oppressive discourse that has silenced it along history. After presenting it in a nacional and international level during this last two years, finally the artist has decided to publish the whole texts in which the conference is based, in a bilingual book (Spanish and English) that includes a prologue by Frederic Montornés and a dialogue with Manuel Olveira, intervened by Blanca Pujals in the Spanish version and by Sher Doruff in the English version. The book has been designed by Roger Adam.
Amar Pérez Galí (Barcelona, 1982) works in the field of the performative arts as a dancer, choreographer, researcher, pedagogue and writer.
