Excesiva Fotofobia Book II + PRINT

Excesiva Fotofobia brings to you fun and playful fine art photography. It is curated by photographers for photographers. Each book features the work of two artists, compiled into two 10 image photo-essays, each accompanied with a written response piece from an invited writer, poet, or curator. The book is an art object in itself, handbound with archival materials. The series is entirely produced in New York City, retaining some of its fresh, dynamic flavor.
Book II includes an essay by a Barbara Gogan and a poem by Rita Koehler. Photographic essays by Armand Agresti and Ruben Natal-San Miguel collide somewhere between the mundane and saturated glitz. The book is concluded with an afterthought by BIBIANA.
Bonus: The printed edition includes a bonus fine art print from Jason Derek North's "Cum" series.
Its editing team hails from opposing corners of the world and uses their clash of commercial and fine art worlds to produce a fresh esthetic that was born of the streets and is right at home in book shelves or inside display cases.

Armand Agresti works mainly with a large format camera for the past sixty years. His work has been shown internationally, including MoMA and Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. Ruben Natal-San Miguel is an architect, photographer, curator, writer, art collector and consultant who specializes primarily in the art of fine emerging photography. His work has been shown and published extensively, including New York Public Library, New York Times, ARTnet, Time Out, and French Photo. Barbara Gogan is a composer and long-time copy chief at LIFE Books. Rita Koehler completed her MFA at Lesley University College of Art and Design, Boston. Her work has been exhibited nationally and featured in Fraction Magazine and Focal Point. Jason Derek North is an emerging photographer working in New York City and New Orleans.
Book II was exhibited at the Benaki Museum as part of Athens Photo Festival (Greece) and is part of the permanent collection at Hellenic Center for Photography (Greece).
