Batman's Hill

Batman's Hill is an artist's book featuring concise historical texts by Dr. Miles Lewis and illustrations by Tomáš Horný, published under the name Thomas Hornley while living in Melbourne, Australia. Through a series of illustrations and short texts, the publication reflects on the destruction of Batman's Hill during Melbourne's colonial development, exploring themes of colonization, landscape, urban history, memory, and place. Originally produced as part of the 1993 Illustration and Graphics seminar at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in a limited edition of 500 copies.
