Product Description
Eight Paper Events is Karl-Johan Stigmark's seventh book and the first to be published by Fas Publishing SE. Stigmark is an artist and has among several previously published books materialized subjects with the titles, Spots Words, Cracks And Other Cracks and Loose Threads.
Most of Karl-Johan Stigmark's art projects are intended to be experienced in real time, and the accompanying photographic documentation is more like independent works, where the artist allows the images and text to enter into a symbiotic relationship on a whole new level. But he also has another photographic practice, where he turns his camera towards those things and areas of life that are usually not subject to our gaze.
Eight Paper Events is an artists' book where the material is produced primarily to be shown in book form. The book consists of eight different parts that all in different ways portray events that are based on the ontology or being of paper. Here you can see the beautiful visual excesses of the initial photographic series meet the documentation of the score On Paper - where the acoustic of paper is represented. Furthermore, in one part of the book one can see performance works from the rivers of Paris replaced by a dissection of Sartre's Being and Nothingness in another part. Furthermore, there are experiments with different paper qualities, but also digressions and statements that are embedded in the front and back covers.
