Product Description

The Nature of Things 1. Notes, Letfovers is a collection of photographs by Dario Salamone on the theme of anthropogenesis; the evolutionary process that led to the emergence of Homo sapiens as a distinct species. Through a visual investigation of the most relevant scientific and anthropological theories, the book comes as a reflection on the human peculiarity of accessing the symbolic order, trying to highlight the costs of it. Devices, animals and primitive representations interact with each other and accompany the observer on a path that appears both philosophical and introspective.

Born in Agrigento in 1984, Dario Salamone studied Philosophy at "Sapienza" University in Rome as well as Music Composition and Piano at "Santa Cecilia" Conservatory. Being a self-taught photographer, he soon entered the world of fashion photography. His work has been published in several magazines such as Vogue Italia, CR Fashion Book, Hunter, Cactus, The Greatest, Icon, D Repubblica, GQ Italia, L'Officiel Hommes Italia, Odiseo, among others. Salamone's work investigates the expressive and mechanical possibilities of human body, the relationship between nature and culture and the role of technology in anthropogenesis. His themes often refer to ancient art and to the primal forms of cultural expressions. Salamone is based and works in Milan.
