Product Description

The first issue of Subaltern Publishing Group is now available: A photographic discussion about deconstruction, which is not only communicated by the artwork – a different way of reading books underlines this philosophical topic.

Tim Wolfgarten, born in March 1982, finishes his studies in cross-cultural communication with a major in sociology of art. His education tends towards the dualism of theory and practice, which is reflected in his artwork very strongly. While the subject matter is mostly of a social nature, his medium is analogue photography coupled with alternative photographic processes. The association of subject and technique creates a fine balance and emphasizes the processed topic of post-structuralism in this issue.

This issue moves the beholder to deconstruct the subject and to re-correlate the decomposed fragments back into its constitution. The outcome of this project is not only the creation and evocation of a range of emotions, at times contradictory, arising from within the subject, but also the correspondence of those self-constructed sentiments between one subject and another. This first issue is an open source of several dispositions waiting to be set in other respects. A medium to be operated.
