The Little Book of Germany (book + cd)

The Little Book of Germany is an experimental project that draws from German traditions in concrete poetry, together with the notion of idea as the source of artistic creation and the main ontological category of being, according to many philosophers, such as Kant.

After living in many cities in Germany, Mendes concluded that if Germany were to be an object it would be a book, in which every page has the word idea printed. In the beginning, ideas are so beautiful and simple, but as time goes by, they became quite messy and everything goes wrong. Just like artistic creation.

The Little Book of Germany aims to transform the bookstore into an art-exhibition where the book is the main ‘star’. The video is displayed on an iPad next to the book, exploring analogue and digital media.
