American minimalist composer Robert Blatt's "The Free Air" is both highly meditative and transportive. Soft-spoken words are pushed by quiet, soft commands surrounded by various field recordings of the area where these concepts were espoused. Robert's work is both tragic and sublime. Quiet and fierce. Compositions where endurance is called upon thus altering one's experience and personal transformation; bench sat and spoken through. Words dictated softly while engulfed in hurried sounds of traffic, ventilation machines, and strange, robotic crickets. The cassette contains a booklet score and individualized screen-printed artwork.
