Arquitectura Forense. Violencia en el umbral de detectabilidad

The work of Forensic Architecture, a small London-based research agency, has managed to move the dispute scenarios of architectural discipline from professional offices to international courts and forums. Through a new set of representation, analysis and research systems that cross spatial investigations with new means of image production, data collection with virtual modeling, their investigations become key pieces in cases of human rights violations, international conflicts alongside communities affected by political violence, prosecutors and humanitarian organizations.

Eyal Weizman, founder of the agency, opens the doors of the laboratory with a didactic desire to explain the main bases that have sustained his work during the last decade, relying on case studies that take us from the drone attacks in the mountains of Afghanistan to detention centers in Syria, from the blurry recording of a video shot in the pixels of a satellite image, from the bombings in Gaza to the Guatemalan mountains. A parallel narrative that manages to connect the theoretical approaches of the agency with the investigations that feed them.
